The mission of the Tulsa City-County Library is to provide service that is high in quality and timeliness while promoting the joy of reading, research, literacy, and access to information for people of all ages.

In support of this mission the Library provides community outreach, materials in a variety of formats, programs on a variety of topics, current technologies, and free and equal access to information.

The mission of the Tulsa City-County Library web site is to serve as an "online branch" and provide the public with self-service library functions.

Currently the library houses 29,781 items and circulation July 2002 through June 2003 was 87,790. The library is open 44 hours per week and has a staff of 2.5 FTEs. In 2002 a $145,000 renovation project left the library bright and colorful inside and out with a separate space for public computers, a tree house theme in the children’s area, new furnishings, paint and flooring, new lighting and circulation desk, a beautifully etched glass tree in the entryway and new landscaping.
